PREVIEW: Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient

14 February 2017

Information and team news ahead of tonight's trip to Home Park

The O’s will be looking to build on Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Yeovil Town when making the trip to Plymouth Argyle tonight (7.45pm kick-off).

Gavin Massey’s strike two minutes from time, his sixth of the season, saw Orient return from Huish Park with their first point of 2017, as well as Danny Webb’s first as manager.

The O’s had fallen behind to a Francois Zoko strike just before half-time, but Massey was on hand to fire home late on as Webb’s outfit remain in 23d spot going into tonight’s game.

Plymouth saw off the challenge of local rivals Exeter City 3-0 at the weekend with goals from Matty Kennedy, Ryan Taylor and Jake Jervis leaving the Pilgrims second in the table – just three points behind league leaders Doncaster Rovers.

Derek Adams’ side have tasted just three home defeats all season, which have come against Luton Town (3-0), Grimsby Town (3-0) and Barnet (2-0).

The O’s lost the reverse fixture 2-0 when the sides met earlier on this season, but saw midfielder Robbie Weir and defender Jens Janse sent off inside in the first 14 minutes.

James Spencer had put the Pilgrims into an early lead, but the nine-men of Orient battled on and it took until the 84th minute for Ryan Donaldson to secure all three points for Adams’ outfit.

TEAM NEWS

O’s boss Danny Webb admits there are a number of injury concerns going into tonight’s encounter at Home Park.

The 33-year-old kept his cards close to his chest though, and will wait to see if the players concerned will pass fitness tests on the morning of the game.

Robbie Weir continues to recover well from surgery on his ACL injury, while Jens Janse and Aron Pollock remain ruled out. Meanwhile, Sammy Moore remains a doubt having missed out through illness at Yeovil Town.

SKY BET BETTING (correct at the time of writing)

The O’s are 4/1 outsiders to emerge with victory from Home Park tonight, with the hosts priced at 4/6 and the draw available at 14/5.

Plymouth picked up a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture and a repeat of that scoreline can be backed at 13/2, while for a repeat of the O’s 1-1 draw at the Pilgrims last season is 11/2.

Gavin Massey has scored in both the last two Orient games and is 8/1 to net the opener or 5/2 anytime once again, while Ryan Taylor and Graham Carey lead the way for the hosts at 4/1 to net the first goal.
