REACTION: Webb - 'It was always going to be tough'

4 February 2017

O's boss remains upbeat despite suffering defeat in first game

Manager Danny Webb felt he could take several positives from this afternoon's game against Carlisle United despite suffering a 2-1 defeat.

Gavin Massey had given Webb's side a 25th minute lead, only for close-range efforts from Gary Liddle and Jamie Proctor in either half to condemn the 33-year-old to a loss in his first game in charge.

Having made a number of changes for the clash, Webb was pleased in that the players had taken on board the messages he had put across to them during his first week of training as well as the reaction to falling behind in the second half.
