REACTION: Edwards - 'That was not good enough'

2 January 2017

Manager reflects on bad start to 2017

Orient boss Andy Edwards admitted the side fell well below the standards he has asked for in the 4-0 defeat at Exeter City this afternoon.

David Wheeler opened the scoring with four minutes on the clock, before a Ryan Harley double and one for Liam McAlinden ensured a bitterly disappointing start to 2017 for the O's.

Edwards believed the O's were simply not at the races throughout the contest and despite creating a few opportunities failed to come closer to expectations set.

The 45-year-old boss was pleased with the performance of substitute Josh Koroma, but admitted the game had already gone at that stage.

Edwards apologised to the 259 fans that made the long trip to St James Park, and has called for a positive response against Barnet at the Matchroom Stadium, where the O's are currently unbeaten in the last three games.

The full interview with the O's boss will be on Orient PlayerHD later tonight.
