Orient travel to AFC Hornchurch this evening (kick-off 7.45pm), for our latest pre-season friendly.
Victorious in our previous three friendlies, Steve Davis’ side will head to the Hornchurch Stadium having defeated Greenwich Borough 2-1 on Saturday.
David Mooney’s second minute header got the O’s off to a perfect start at the DGS Stadium, before fellow striker Macauley Bonne doubled our lead early in the second half.
Jack Sammoutis pulled a goal back for the hosts but it proved to be only a consolation as the O’s held on.
AFC Hornchurch will be hosting their first pre-season friendly of the summer this evening, and go into the fixture having secured back-to-back victories at Hullbridge Sports and VCD Athletic.
The Urchins, who are managed by Jimmy McFarlane, will be pushing for promotion from the Bostik North Division One this season after finishing the 2016-17 campaign in fourth place and losing to Thurrock in the play-offs.
Head Coach Steve Davis will be looking to give more minutes to players at the Hornchurch Stadium as the 2017-18 opening day draws ever closer.
Davis has handed players between 45-60 minutes in previous fixtures, though with August 5’s trip to Sutton United now just over two weeks away, several players will be given extended game time in order to reach full match fitness.
The O’s will also welcome back Aron Pollock, Myles Judd, Christian Scales and Alex Lawless who all missed out at Greenwich Borough due to slight injuries.
Tickets are available on the gate, with prices as followed:
Under 12s: Free
