PREVIEW: Torquay United v Leyton Orient

24 November 2017

The O’s make the trip to Plainmoor tomorrow (kick-off 3pm) as they face Torquay United in the Vanarama National League.

Tuesday night saw Orient contest an eventful 2-2 draw at home to Chester.

Macauley Bonne opened the scoring after six minutes before James Akintunde levelled 10 minutes later. Ross Hannah then gave the visitors the lead five minutes before the interval, before Sam Sargeant denied the Chester forward from the penalty spot on the 44th minute after Jamie Sendles-White had been shown a red card.

Despite being a man down the O’s produced a strong second half showing, and levelled on the hour mark when Jobi McAnuff rifled home from 30-yards.

Torquay United are currently second from bottom, with three wins, five draws and 13 defeats from their 20 matches.

The Gulls claimed an impressive 1-0 victory away to Sutton United on Tuesday, Ruairi Keating scoring the winner on the 10th minute.

Torquay finished 19th in the National League last season.

The O’s will be without defender Jamie Sendles-White who is serving a suspension following his sending-off in Tuesday’s draw, along with forward Macauley Bonne who also serves a one-game suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season.

Ross Embleton will also be without winger James Brophy, who was today recalled from his loan by parent Club Swindon Town.

However, Orient could welcome back goalkeeper Charlie Grainger who returned to training on Thursday after aggravating a hip injury last Saturday.
