Junior O’s fans and Theo’s Gang members’ competition winners from the Club’s Open Day event were the proud pre-match flag bearers and guard of honour at Leyton Orient’s first Saturday home game in the National League.
The match versus Maidstone United saw over 5000 spectators in attendance and the junior fans reaped the applause as they paraded around the pitch prior to kick off led superbly by three-year-old Peyton Shipton.
Mum Louise said afterwards; “Peyton loved it. She and her brother have become fanatical O’s fans and would do this every week if they could! Unfortunately Riley was sick today but hopefully he can follow in his sisters footsteps in a game later in the season.”
The excited flag-wavers went on to see the O’s record a 2-0 victory over their opponents and Steven Johnson, whose son Dhruv took part, said, “Thanks again to all at Leyton Orient for today. It was a great parade. We had a brilliant afternoon!”
The next competition for our young supporters to be either flag bearers or a half time penalty taker against mascot Theo will be sometime during the Christmas/New Year schedule of games so keep an eye out for Theo’s Christmas Party date!!
Our brilliant parade consisted of: Peyton Shipton, April Sutton, Jamie Temple, Dhruv Johnson, Nina Lima, Samuel Brand, Morgan Buckthorpe-Evans, Alex Waldron, Shay Downes, Teddy Brace, Sadie O’Sullivan and Lauren Henwood.
