LOFC is working with writer/researcher Jo Turner, in order to find out more about its female supporters’ experiences at the Club and how they might be improved.
Over the summer break, Turner will be talking to female Orient fans about their matchday experience, their ambitions for the Club and what the Club can do to encourage more women to attend matches.
This research will be carried out as part of a Masters degree at Cambridge University and Turner plans to produce a report that will help the Club improve its appeal to women and families.
“I want to talk to as many fans as I can over the next few months,” said Jo Turner. “Female fans are an increasingly vital component of the modern game. Supporting the O’s is a unique experience, and one which I think even more women could enjoy.”
Chief Executive Danny Macklin commented, “We are delighted to be working with Jo Turner in order to increase the appeal of Leyton Orient FC to female fans. We look forward to discovering what we can do to make sure that we broaden that appeal.”
