NEWS: Jobi McAnuff named new Club Captain

26 July 2018

The Club can confirm Jobi McAnuff has been named Club Captain for the 2018/19 season, Charlie Lee named as Vice-Captain.

The midfielder is in his second spell at the O's, scoring six goals and eight assists in 37 appearances last season, captaining the side on numerous occasions. The former-Jamaican international has made 97 appearances for the O's across his two spells.

Head Coach Justin Edinburgh told leytonorient.com, "Not only does [Jobi] lead by example on the pitch, he's unbelievable off it. He does it with class and integrity and what that does allow is Charlie to continue his comeback from a long-term injury without any distractions".

Jobi said, "To be made Captain of this Club is a massive honour. It's something I've been fortunate enough to do previously in my career and initially got given it when Ross Embleton took over last year, it's something I've really enjoyed. I'm very proud to have been asked and it's something I enjoy and will hopefully do a good job of it."
