Lead Schools Development Coach, James Court, has been nominated for Coach of the Year in Waltham Forest Feel Good Sport Awards 2018.
James was nominated by Julie Field, Nursery Co-ordinator, at Chase Lane School, where James works with over 200 pupils (from Early Years to Key Stage 2 pupils) three times a week. In her nomination she cited his outstanding professionalism, dedication to supporting the children’s learning and flexibility when working with children and staff.
In James’ role as Lead Schools Development Coach, he works in Chase Lane and Chapel End Infant school, delivering Premier League Primary Stars, +Sport Move and Learn and Healthy HerO’s for Leyton Orient Trust. He delivers physical exercise classes, before and after school sessions as well as inter-school tournaments.
James says: “I’m really honoured to have been nominated for this award and looking forward to enjoying the evening. It really is a privilege to work with the amazing teachers and pupils at Chase Lane School and Chapel End Infants School and seeing the passion they have for sports in schools “
Julie says: “My list of reasons why James deserves to win the Coach of the Year could well be endless! As well as delivering sessions that the children love, he has been instrumental in supporting and leading Showcasing Sports Days for the Nursery, as well as supporting and developing parental workshops. He is also fantastic with children with specific physical needs, by designing programmes to suit their individual needs.”
Waltham Forest Feel Good Sport Awards 2018 will recognise and reward local people who contribute towards the sport & physical activity scene in Waltham Forest. With representatives in attendance from many key organisations from both within the Borough and across London.
The ceremony will take place at Walthamstow Assembly Hall on Thursday 22nd November where the winner will be announced.
From everyone at the Trust – best of luck to James!
