The O’s women’s team will be looking to extend their unbeaten league run to six matches when they travel to Norwich City Ladies in the FA Women’s National League this Sunday.
Orient come into the match having progressed to the Capital Cup semi-finals with a 5-2 victory over Haringey Borough Women at Mile End Stadium last weekend.
Captain Danielle Griffiths and Chanel Richards added to Hayley Barton’s hat-trick but the O’s were made to work for their rewards.
Chris Brayford’s side make the journey to Norfolk for only their fourth away league match of the current campaign.
Having found form in the league, Orient go into this game sitting fifth in South East Division One with 15 points having won four, drawn three and lost two of their nine league games.
They will be looking to produce a high quality performance and bring all three points back to east London.
As for Norwich City, they sit 10th in South East Division One with seven points having won two, drawn one and lost five of their eight league games this season.
Last Sunday, the Canaries lost 3-2 to Acle United in the County Cup where Natasha Snelling and Kathryn Stanley got on the scoresheet.
Norwich will be looking to climb the table and build confidence ahead of the New Year with a positive result this weekend.
Orient winger Hayley Barton has found some excellent form in recent weeks. She has netted five goals in her previous three appearances, including a hat-trick against Haringey Borough last weekend. Barton will be hoping to continue her clinical streak in front of goal and help the O’s to a third consecutive victory in all competitions.
Norwich’s Kathryn Stanley has scored twice in the Canaries last three matches. She netted in the 3-2 defeat against Acle United last week, and the 4-2 defeat to AFC Wimbledon Ladies on 4th November. Norwich have scored in each of their last nine matches and will be looking to stretch that run to 10 games this weekend.
A Look at the Stats:

In the reverse fixture, Orient welcomed Norwich to Mile End on 25th March and emerged
4-1 winners. Sophie Le Marchand netted a hat-trick while Hayley Barton got the O’s fourth of the afternoon.
Ahead of the match, captain Danielle Griffiths spoke about finishing the year on a high:
“After two good victories, we know that it is important to turn that momentum into points on the board, particularly given the impending Christmas break. Every team in the league has upped its game this year and the league is very competitive. Norwich have come close to getting results against some of the top teams in our division, so we need to make sure we perform to our highest level on Sunday to seek to bring three points back to London.”
