Orient’s U18’s will travel to Hayden Road to take on hosts AFC Rushden and Diamonds in the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup tonight.
The winner of the tie will then enter the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup and host Southend United, following Friday nights draw.
Last time out, the U18s beat Romford 2-1 at the Breyer Group Stadium. Goals from Jaedon Phillips and Bradley McClenaghan saw the lads come from behind to set up the visit to Rushden. The group will hope to continue their run in the tournament and emulate last season’s wonder run, which saw them visit the Hawthorns.
The hosts come into this tie following a 2-1 victory against Kettering Town. Kettering pulled a goal back after falling two goals behind, but could only scare the Diamonds to a nervy finish.
