PREVIEW: Leyton Orient v Salford City

4 January 2019

The O's welcome Salford City in a top-of-the-table clash in the Vanarama National League tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

Justin Edinburgh's men started 2019 in the perfect fashion as Macauley Bonne's first-half header clinched a 1-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge on New Years Day.

Salford City come into the game having lost four of their last five matches, although they secured a valuable three points at home to Wrexham AFC on Tuesday.

The Ammies made amends for a 5-1 Boxing Day thrashing at the hands of the Welsh title challengers and took the lead through Matt Green on the 23rd minute before Rory Gaffney doubled their advantage on the hour mark.

The two sides met on the opening day of the season and Rory Gaffney put the Ammies ahead just after half-time but following a barrage of O's pressure, Craig Clay's effort was deflected by Liam Hogan into the net for an 88th minute equaliser.

TEAM NEWS

New signing Jordan Maguire-Drew could make his debut having received international clearance following his permanent move on Wednesday. Midfielder Craig Clay is a doubt with a hamstring injury but Jobi McAnuff returned on Tuesday after a spell out with a toe injury.

MAN IN THE MIDDLE

Hulme has taken charge of Orient on one occasion this season, it came in the 3-1 win over Bromley. Dale Gorman and Myles Judd were booked on that day. In total, the official has brandished 39 yellow cards, four red cards and given one penalty in the National League.
