The Club can confirm striker Macauley Bonne has agreed a transfer to newly promoted Championship side Charlton Athletic, following the activation of his release clause.
Bonne moved to the O’s on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Colchester United in June 2017.
The 23-year old hit the ground running and has since scored 49 goals in 102 games during an excellent two years at The Breyer Group Stadium, earning himself status as one of the Club's great goalscorers.
The forward played his part in the title-winning side racking up 4,138 minutes and hitting 20+ league goals for the second consecutive season, the first O's player to do so since the legendary Tommy Johnston.
Leyton Orient’s top goal scorer during both his seasons in E10, Bonne will be truly missed for his goals, work rate, personality and time for others.
We thank Macauley well for his efforts at Orient and wish him well in the future.
