We grabbed three points at Havant & Waterlooville's Westleigh Park after this afternoon's 1-2 victory.
Jordan Maguire-Drew opened the scoring in stunning fashion before The Hawks pulled one back in a similar way in the second half but Josh Coulson headed home moments later to give the O's the win.
Orient started the game the quicker of the two sides and looked dangerous on the left-wing. The ball was worked well to Joe Widdowson who advanced into the box and fired at goal but Ben Dudzinski palmed the danger away.
Havant were forced into an early change when Jack James was withdrawn after a clash with Sam Ling. Lee Bradbury sent on Ryan Woodford as his replacement.
Widdowson was enjoying a lot of the ball on the left wing and his looped cross found Ling at the back post who took a touch before he struck at goal but Dudzinski did well to beat the ball away.
Orient defended a corner well and looked to start an attack with Jordan Maguire-Drew immediately, the midfielder raced clear through on goal but whipped the ball inches wide of the far post.
10 minutes before the break, Orient took the lead in wonderful style. A throw-in on the right-hand side dropped to Maguire-Drew after Macauley Bonne's touch. The midfielder took a touch and hit the ball over Dudzinski and into the back of the net from 30-yards.
Orient began the second-half well, front men Bonne and Simpson linked-up on the edge of the box before the former stung the hands of the Hawks’ ‘keeper.
On the hour mark, Marvin Ekpiteta skimmed the bar from close range following successive Maguire-Drew corners.
Against the run of play, Alfie Rutherford struck into the top corner from range to bring the scores level shortly before the clock reached 70 minutes, another wonder-strike.
We responded well to Havant's leveller, first, Maguire-Drew rattled the bar from 20-yards before Josh Coulson found the net with a looping header following Ling’s long throw-in.
The hosts applied mountains of pressure on our back-line as they threw more and more men forward but we stood firm to hole on for the three-points.
