Lee Angol's Biography

Lee Angol joined the O’s on July 1, 2019, after departing Shrewsbury Town.

The 25-year-old began his career at Wycombe Wanderers, via a spell with Tottenham Hotspur, and made his senior debut on August 11, 2012, in a 1-0 defeat to Watford in the Carabao Cup.

He made a number of short loan moves, appearing for Hendon, Maidenhead United and Boreham Wood, before making the permanent move to Luton Town.

He immediately returned to the Wood on loan and netted 25 goals in 39 appearances, 33 goals in all competitions.

Angol signed a three-year contract with Peterborough United on July 20, 2015, and scored twice on his debut in a 5-1 win against Oldham Athletic, ending the 2015-16 season with 11 goals in 38 appearances.

The forward fractured his ankle in July 2016 and spent several months on the side-line, joining National League side Lincoln City in a bid to return to full fitness. He scored five goals in 11 games as he helped the side secure promotion to the Football League.

He joined Mansfield upon his return and scored nine goals in 29 games before returning to League One where he featured for Shrewsbury Town.

The Carshalton-born forward joined the O’s in July and made his debut against Cheltenham Town on August 3, 2019, and netted his first goal in the dramatic 3-2 win over Mansfield Town, his former Club, on August 20.
